Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of primary health care that uses natural methods and substances to support and stimulate the body's inherent self-healing process.

The foundation is the principle Vis Medicatrix Naturae: The Healing Power of Nature.

Our objective is to discover the underlying cause to the symptoms presented and treat the imbalance(s). Physical, mental and emotional factors are all taken into consideration; and the treatment is tailored to each case.

Training of Naturopathic Doctors

Registered and licenced N.D.'s must have a minimum of 3 years university premedical education. They must also have completed the 4 year professional training at a recognized college of naturopathic medicine. The intensive training includes medical clinical sciences, diagnostics, naturopathic philosophy, therapeutics, extensive clinic experience and passing Board exams.

What Treatments do N.D.'s Use?

Clinical Nutrition
Health and nutrition go hand in hand. Specific diets, vitamins, minerals and specialized supplements are frequently essential for both treating illness and optimizing long-lasting health.

Lifestyle Counselling and Stress Management
Innovative counselling, and natural substances known for their ability to correct and prevent the physical affects of stress are used. Coaching changes to remove obstacles - both mental and enviromental - will lead to greater well-being.

What do Naturopathic Doctors Treat?

Chronic illness
People suffering from chronic symptoms of fatigue, digestive disorders, gynecological problems, depression, joint, organ dysfunctions, allergies, etc. no matter what age, can heal with Naturopathic Medicine alone, and in conjunction with conventional treatments.

Colds, flus, headaches, ear infections, sprains, strains, intestinal upsets are effectively treated naturally.

Catching weaknesses and tendencies before they become serious illnesses or degenerative diseases is a primary objective of the Naturopathic Doctor. People who are healthy and well frequently seek naturopathic care to ensure they stay that way!
